Public defender offices are uniquely positioned to identify systemic issues and injustices otherwise invisible to the media, general public, lawmakers, and the courts. This session will introduce the importance of developing office-wide systems for story collection, what it takes to support a storytelling and advocacy culture inside an office, and the role that all staff play in keeping their eyes and ears open and saying something when they see something.
