This session will identify collaboration and coalition building as the foundational element for any successful defender advocacy outside of court. The session will challenge defenders to grapple with what it means to work for and with individuals and communities directly impacted by their chosen social justice issue for legal change, including who the defenders are in the movement, how they will be perceived, how to identify key allies and build real relationships of trust to fight together.
