Most defenders know that storytelling is essential in successfully advocating for our clients.  But effective storytelling is much more that simply using public speaking techniques and mastering traditional trial skills.  We first  find the story of the case that we want to tell.  By looking to the great storytellers, and utilizing principles of screenwriting and character development, this presentation will show how to develop a theory of innocence and themes that transcend journalistic fact telling to become a powerfully persuasive and effective story.
